Mayor Maita, Councilors graduate in UMak Executive Program

To better serve her constituents and to practice and develop good governance, Mayor Maita took up a course an Executive Program on Local Government Administration at UMak’s College of Governance and Public Policy.

 

Designed for local government officials, the program is offered at UMak in partnership with the Philippine Councilors League- Legislative Academy and the Pimentel Center for local Governance (PCLG).

 

UMak Distinguished Professor of Governance, former Senator Aquilino Q. Pimentel, Jr. gave his congratulatory message to all graduates, including 319 who finished the Diploma in Development Management and Governance and 207 who finished the Bachelor of Arts Major in Local Government Administration course.

 

The graduates are mostly municipal and city councilors, provincial board members, and municipal and city mayors and vice mayors.

 

Honorable Virgilio R. de los Reyes, Secretary of Department of Agrarian Reform delivered a speech on the "21st Century UMak:  Leading a Relevant, Revitalized and Revolutionary Education”.

 

Laguna Governor Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan took part in the distribution of diplomas to the graduates along with UMak President Tomas B. Lopez. Jr., Deans of Colleges and Directors.

 

Among the graduates were Pagsanjan Councilors Nathanael Bernales II and Fred Capistrano, who completed the course Diploma in Development Management and Governance.

 

SB Secretary Anna Linda Cabrega and former Councilor Gener Dimaranan meanwhile graduated from Bachelor of Arts Major in Local Government Administration.
